Welcome to my blog, All Things Homemade. When I first started my blog, I mainly wrote about all things I made at home: flower hats, bracelets and candles. Now, for the most part, I write articles for other companies and love it. If ever you need me to write an article for you, contact me.

My Newest Diaper Cake Creation
My friend from church will be having a baby boy pretty soon. So, our friends from church had a surprise baby shower for her at our local mall. In the food court. It was so cool.

Prices on Everything Going Up, Cards and Gifts Should Not Have To
With the price of everything from food to gas going up these days, purchasing cards and gifts is probably something that can take a backseat.
If you are of the creative nature and have time to make your own, do it. It is well worth it to create your own cards and gifts. All you need is a computer, printer paper, photo paper and ideas.
Also, before making a card or gift, ask your family member or friend what their favorite colors are or what they like.
In the long run, making a personalized or homemade gift is worth it to you and your family member or friend.
For one, they can show off your card or gift and two, this is way for you to get exposure. Maybe, your family member or friend would like you to make them the same type of gift for their friends. Word of mouth goes a long way.
Remember, Martha (Stewart), started her multi billion dollar business from her home.

They are easy to make a just take your creativity.
Making a personalized card takes the following items:
- A photo of your family member or friend. The photo should be one of them actually looking at the camera, not a side view photo.
- Some graduation style stickers from your local craft store or mass retailer.
- Card stock or already made cards from your local craft store or mass retailer.
- Time. It will take time to make a personalized card because it is coming from you, not a mass retailer like Hallmark or Wal Mart.
It is always fun making homemade cards, for any occasion. Graduation cards are no different.

Homemade card and scrapbook embellishments
For those who love to make homemade cards or scrapbook, you know it gets costly purchasing those 3-D stickers or embellishments.
Well, now, all you have to do is make them yourself.
Go to your local craft store, Michael's or even Wal Mart, check out the types of stickers you might want to use on your cards or scrapbooks. When you get home, make them yourself using card stock paper and your word processing software.
This is real easy to do. Of course, some of the embellishments are too complicated to make yourself. Taking a look at the types of embellishments you need make it somewhat easy for you to replicate.
Making your own embellishments is fun because sometimes, you can not find what you are looking for. Therefore, you have to make them yourself.

Making Homemade Terra Cota Paintings is Fun
The summer of 2005, I purchased some terra cota planting pots. With these planting pots, I thought it would be nice paint some designs on them.
So, I purchased some acrylic paints from my craft store and whatever was in my head, I transferred to a terra cota planter.
These are real easy to make because one, they are your own design and two, the paint dries quickly.
This means, you can make as many as you want, when you want and for who you want.
They make great gifts for family, friends and yourself.
The terra cota pots can be purchased at your grocery store, craft store, hardware store or mass retailer.
Have fun making these and see if you can sell some..
God Bless!!

Making Floral Writing Pens is Fun
One day, I was in a retail store and I was given a floral writing pen to sign something.
I thought to myself, "Self, I can make these. They look easy to do."
So, I went to my local craft store, purchased some floral green tape, a wire cutter and then went to my mass retailer to get a bag of blue and black pens for under a dollar.
These are easy to make and can be made for any occasion.
If you need some for a party favor, wedding shower, baby shower, store opening; whatever the occasion, I can make these for you.
Or, if you have to time, they can be homemade by you.
God Bless!!

Having fun Making Homemade Cards
Making homemade cards is fun. When you make a homemade card, it shows the person you made the card for you took the time to put some love and time into a personalized card.
Sometimes, it takes me days to make a card. This is because I have to translate what is in my mind, onto a card.
Creating a personalized birthday card is something your recipient will more than likely keep.
Usually, store bought cards are saved for a couple years, then thrown away.
When someone gets a homemade card, they are usually keepers. And, your recipient may request another homemade card.
Making homemade cards for your family and friends is also a way to get the word out that you make homemade cards. If you have time to make homemade cards for others, let the orders
come in!!
On many of my homemade cards, I make my own embellishments. Why you may ask? Well, because they are, many of them, too expensive. All I do is use Microsoft Word and create my own words or phrases. It is easy to do and shows your real creative side.
God Bless!

Making a Diaper Cake is Fun
When my sister was pregnant with her last baby, I made her a diaper cake. There are several ways in which to make these diaper cakes, but I choose a way that was easier for me.
These diaper cakes are costly if you purchase one from a diaper cake website. There, they have all the 'ingredients' they need to make their diaper cakes, plus more hands to make them I am sure.
When I make my diaper cakes, I use what I find at Wal Mart, Michael's or a fabric store. The cost is probably still the same for the 'ingredients' I use, they are just not always there when I need a specific item.
Let's say I want to make a Pooh diaper cake, well that is usually easy as Wal Mart carries these items. It is also easy to find baby girl colors and baby boy colors. If I wanted to make something other they these, it would be hard to find such items. Especially in my city.
Time, it also takes time and love to make these diaper cakes.
They are fun to make and will be making another one probably in September for a friend of mine. She is on her second baby.
God Bless!

Greetings to all Moms and Non Moms who like things Homemade
Hello,
This is my first blog on making all things homemade. If you are like me and have a desire to create things from scratch, then this is the right place to go to.
We can talk about what you like to create, from scratch, or have someone else make for you.
When it comes to crafts, that is not really what I like to call it. What I do is more personal and I really put time and effort into my creative side.
Being able to create something, that was once in my head, and now on paper, or otherwise, is a real joy and an accomplishment.
Let's go on this journey together...
God Bless!
